RUTH KRUG BERGER AND DOROTHY P. HAUSER $500 MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Eligibility

  1. Applicants must be initiated members of one of the SAI-Phi A Province or SAI-Phi B Province collegiate chapters. They must also be in financial good standing with their college chapter, and current with national and local dues.
  2. Applicants must be enrolled as a full or part-time undergraduate student for the current academic year.
  3. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.00.
  4. Applicants may not receive both the Boston Alumnae Chapter Scholarship and the Ruth Krug Berger/Dorothy P. Hauser Scholarship in the same academic year.

Submission Materials for All Applicants
Please submit the following:

  1. Complete the following essay: please explain in 400-700 typed words in what ways you have given outstanding service to your chapter.
  2. A completed, signed application. An incomplete application may result in disqualification.
  3. A current, official transcript.

Music Majors
Please submit the following:

  1. A recording of the applicant performing two works of her choice (accompaniment is optional) via YouTube, digital portfolio, website, DVD, or CD.
  2. A letter of recommendation from a music faculty member in a sealed envelope with his or her signature over the sealed flap. The faculty member should include his or her contact information should we need to contact them for reference.

Arts-related or Non-Music Majors
Please submit the following:

  1. A link to an ensemble performance in which the applicant participated; OR an uploaded video of a presentation, lecture or demonstration involving a music- related topic or project; OR if no web-based visual is available, an applicant may submit a written description and supporting materials (programs, reviews, PowerPoint outline, etc.)
  2. A letter of recommendation from a faculty member or advisor that can attest to your service to the fraternity, in a sealed envelope with his or her signature over the sealed flap. The faculty member should include their contact information should we need to contact them for reference.

Please note that the NYAC Scholarship Committee has the right to not choose a winner in any given year.
