Committees
This is where you can read about each of the committees, find out who to contact about getting involved, and decide where your particular talents could be used the best! If you are interested in becoming more active in the chapter, please let Michelle Ingram know. With so much going on, there is bound to be something that fits your talents and enthusiasms here.
- Bylaws: Ensures that the chapter's bylaws are up-to-date and still pertinent. Co-Chairs: Paige Hardison & Melissa Gibnus
- Finance: Creates the budget & addresses financial issues. Chair: Sue Landis
- Fundraising: Helps with the planning of fundraising events in consultation with the Treasurer. Chair: Melissa Pelkey
- Chapter History/Scrapbook: Maintains the chapter scrapbook and archival memorabilia to ensure the preservation of the local chapter's history within the greater context of SAI as a whole. Chair: Melissa Pelkey
- Honors: Recommends which member(s), if any, should be nominated for local and/or national awards. Chair: Sara Bong
- Membership: Encourages & maintains supportive friendships between members of the chapter and works to increase membership within the chapter. This committee is also responsible for Fraternity Education (F.R.E.D), which presents the chapter with fun facts about SAI. Chair: Dena Holland
- Nominating: Presents a slate of outstanding members to be considered for Executive Board positions. Chair: TBA
- Program/Ritual: Recruits and organizes members to perform for all musicales, including the annual American Musicale. Helps organize Ritual ceremonies, including affiliation and Distinguished Member Initiations, etc. Co-Chair: Lyndsay Varsaci & Rachel Helgeson
- Service: Organizes events that allow members to contribute to the community. In the past, these events have included things such as a food drive, a toy drive, caroling, and the Revlon Run/Walk. Chair: Aimee Steele
- Benefit Committee: Consists of the Executive Board; Organizes and plans our Benefit Concert. Co-Chairs: Sue Landis
- Social/Special Events: Coordinates our social events including our annual Holiday Dinner. Also, helps coordinate food at special events. Chair: Gweneth Mooney
- NYU Scholarship: Organizes and executes the annual scholarship NYAC gives to an NYU SAI. Chair: Sara Bong
- Yearbook: Compiles contact information on each member in the NYAC, the NEB, and others in Phi A an B Provinces. Distributes yearbook to required people. Chair/Editor: Angela Zurlo
- College Chapter Liaison: Acts as the liaison between college and alumnae chapters. Chair:TBA - Eta Mu / Kat Maresco - Beta Tau / [TBA] - Epsilon Zeta
- Public Relations: comprised of three different areas:
- Event PR: takes care of our publicity materials and maintains our PR list. This person has a key role in the planning and execution of our events. Chair: TBA
- Newsletter: creates monthly newsletters detailing the chapter's activities. Chair: Angela Zurlo
- Website: Produces an accurate and up-to-date web page, in order to keep members updated and to make us visible in our community. Chair: Alana Mulford
- Chapter Advisor: A long time member who is not a member of the Executive Board acts as our advisor. Also, the outgoing President is always the next year’s President’s advisor. Contact: Sara Bong
